GAINESVILLE, Fla., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Kentrell Lockett blocked an extra point attempt late in the fourth quarter Saturday and Mississippi pulled off a stunning 31-30 upset of fourth-ranked Florida.
Jevan Snead, a former Gator recruit, completed just 9 of 20 passes for 185 yards, but his biggest completion, an 86-yard touchdown pass to Shay Hodge with 5:26 left to play, gave Ole Miss (3-2, 1-1 SEC) a 31-24 lead.
Florida then scored on a 15-yard run by Percy Harvin about two minutes later, but Lockett blocked Jonathan Phillips's extra point attempt.
Dexter McCluster scored once after 11 carries for 60 yards.
Hodge had three receptions for 133 yards and running back Cordera Eason ran for a touchdown for the Rebels (3-2, 1-1 SEC), who had lost 21 of their previous 22 games at Gainesville.
Tim Tebow led Florida by passing for one score on 24-of-38 passing for 319 yards and added two touchdown runs.
Harvin compiled 82 yards on 10 carries for the Gators (3-1, 1-1).
