COL FB: Auburn 14, Tennessee 12

AUBURN, Ala., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Chris Todd threw the game's only touchdown pass Saturday when 16th-ranked Auburn took advantage of Tennessee mistakes and held on for a 14-12 win.

Todd completed 14-of-23 passes for 93 yards and a first-quarter touchdown to Robert Dunn, who made six receptions for 54 yards. Ben Tate rushed for 70 yards on 19 attempts and Kodi Burns came on to complete 4-of-6 passes for 36 yards.

The Tigers' (4-1, 2-1 SEC) defense limited the Volunteers (1-3, 0-2) to 191 yards of total offense. Defensive tackle Jake Ricks recovered a fumble in the end zone for Auburn's final score.

Tennessee's Jonathan Crompton hit on just 8-of-24 pass attempts for 67 yards and lost a fumble on his own goal line that resulted in a touchdown. Montario Hardesty rushed for 35 yards and the Vols' lone touchdown on 10 carries.
