MLB: Oakland 4, Texas 3 (11 innings)

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Travis Buck drove in the winning run with an 11th-inning single Monday night and the Oakland A's beat Texas 4-3.

Cliff Pennington -- who also drove in a run for Oakland -- opened the top of the 11th with a double off Luis Mendoza (3-8) and Buck drove in Pennington after a one-out walk to Jeff Baisley.

Santiago Casilla allowed a lead-off single in the bottom of the 11th but closed the door after that to get his second save for Oakland, which won for the eighth time in its last nine games.

Alan Embree (2-4) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to get the win. Oakland starter Greg Smith went five innings, giving up two runs on six hits.

Hank Blalock had two hits, including a solo homer, and scored twice, and German Duran had two hits, one RBI and one run scored for Texas, which lost its fifth straight game.
