ST. LOUIS, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Brandon Webb went seven innings Monday night and won his 22nd game of the season in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 4-2 win over St. Louis.

Webb (22-7) allowed two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and two walks, to become the first 22-game winner in the National League since Dontrelle Willis in 2005 -- and the first Arizona pitcher to reach the milestone since 2002, when Randy Johnson won 24.

Stephen Drew homered, doubled and singled, driving in two runs and scoring two for the D'backs, who closed to within two games of first-place Los Angeles in the NL West. The Dodgers were idle Monday.

Cardinals' starter Todd Wellemeyer (12-9) took the loss, allowing three runs on nine hits in six innings, with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Felipe Lopez had three hits for St. Louis, which has lost three straight and 10 of its last 12.
