
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Buffalo remained unbeaten Sunday, edging the Oakland Raiders 24-23 on a 38-yard field goal by Rian Lindell as time expired.
Trent Edwards connected on passes of 11 and 16 yards and Marshawn Lynch carried four times for 19 yards in a drive that set up Lindell's game-winning kick.
Edwards finished with 24 completions for 279 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.
Lynch carried 23 times for 83 yards, helping the Bills start 3-0 for the first time in 16 seasons.
JaMarcus Russell passed for 156 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score for the Raiders (1-2).
Oakland backs Darren McFadden and Michael Bush each rushed 14 times, gaining a combined 97 yards.
The Raiders had beaten the Bills in their four previous meetings.
