CINCINNATI, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Johnny Cueto gave up two earned runs and six hits in six innings to lead Cincinnati to a slim 4-3 victory against Milwaukee.

The loss relegated the Brewers to the National League wild card chase after the Chicago Cubs wrapped up the Central Division with a 5-4 win over St. Louis.

Cincinnati's Micah Owings, one of baseball's best hitting pitchers, delivered a two-run sixth inning pinch single.

Joey Votto had two hits and one RBI.

Adam Rosales drove in a run and Jeff Keppinger added two hits for the Reds, who have won six of their last seven games.

Cueto (9-13) did not walk a batter and fanned four.

Closer Francisco Cordero, the last of five pitchers, earned his 32nd save.

Milwaukee's Ricky Weeks had three hits, one a ninth inning solo homer, and two RBI.

Prince Fielder had one RBI and seven players had one hit for the Brewers, losers in eight of their last nine.

The losing pitcher was starter C.C. Sabathia (9-2).
