
COLORADO SPRINGS, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Darrell Mack scored the game-winning touchdown with under a minute to play Saturday when 20th-ranked Utah posted a 30-23 victory over Air Force.
Mack had 101 yards and three touchdowns -- all in the second half -- on 18 carries while Matt Asiata ran for 116 yards on 19 carries. Brian Johnson completed 16-of-23 passes for 243 yards, with a TD and David Reed caught two passes for 73 yards and a touchdown for Utah (4-0, 2-0).
Shea Smith was 7-for-13 passing for 138 yards and a touchdown while also throwing two interceptions for Air Force (3-1, 1-1). Savier Stephens gained 33 yards rushing with a touchdown. Kevin Fogler had four receptions for 93 yards.
Air Force tied the score with 5:06 to go, but the Utes drove 80 yards for the winning score.
