The Blue Jays snapped a three-game losing streak in a contest that saw the teams combine for 28 hits.
Aubrey Huff's two-run homer finished off a five-run Baltimore fifth inning that gave the Orioles a 6-0 lead.
Toronto responded for five of its own in the bottom half of the inning, a frame highlighted by a two-run double from Alex Rios.
After the Blue Jays tied it in the sixth, Rios put Toronto in front with a homer in the seventh. Luke Scott singled in a run for Baltimore in the eighth to again tie the contest, but Snider came through with his sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning for the game's final run.
Jesse Carlson (7-1) got the win by retiring the only batter he faced for the third out in the eighth. B.J. Ryan needed just nine pitches to work a 1-2-3 ninth for his 30th save.
The loss went to Kam Mickolio (0-1).
Baltimore pitchers had recorded 17 straight scoreless innings coming into the game and starter David Purcey added four more before giving up five runs in the fifth on six straight hits.
