PITTSBURGH, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche and Ryan Doumit combined for three homers and nine RBI Wednesday in carrying Pittsburgh to a 15-8 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

LaRoche had a grand slam and a solo shot and Doumit had a two-run blast during the Pirates' eight-run seventh inning. The Dodgers had won their previous two contests and began the night with a 4 1/2-game cushion over Arizona in the National League West.

The slam by LaRoche gave Pittsburgh a 7-4 lead in the fifth, but the Dodgers came back to forge a 7-7 tie in the seventh.

Pittsburgh then sent 12 men to the plate in the bottom half of the inning, 10 of whom reached base in succession after two were out.

John Grabow (6-3) got the win despite allowing a run in his one inning of relief.

Los Angeles starter Chad Billingsley escaped with a no-decision after giving up six earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. Scott Elbert (0-1) allowed four of the seventh-inning runs without retiring a batter and took the loss.
