
ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Chris Davis hit a game-winning single in the ninth Tuesday to complete a Texas Rangers' 5-4 comeback victory over the Detroit Tigers.
Marlon Byrd hit a game-tying, two-run triple in the ninth for the Rangers, who have won four of their last six games.
Texas starter Kevin Millwood allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in seven innings, with six strikeouts. Reliever Jamey Wright (7-6) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win.
Tigers starter Zach Miner gave up two runs on five hits and a walk in eight innings but Fernando Rodney (0-6) got the loss after blowing the save. Rodney gave up three runs and three hits in the ninth without recording an out.
Brandon Inge hit an RBI single and also scored a run and Miguel Cabrera added an RBI, as the Tigers suffered their sixth straight loss.
