The 23-year-old Frenchman, who was seeded No. 2, defeated Bucharest's Victor Hanescu in the championship match last year.

The 32-year-old Moya, seeded sixth, has 20 ATP wins but none this year.

Simon had beaten Argentine Jose Acasuso 2-6, 7-6, (7-4), 6-4 in the semifinals and Moya advanced with a 6-2, 6-4 win over the No. 1 seed, Richard Gasquet of France.
