
BALTIMORE, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Nick Markakis and Oscar Salazar hit two homers apiece Sunday, fueling Baltimore's 7-3 win over the Minnesota Twins.
Markakis blasted a first-inning, two-run homer and a solo homer in the fifth.
Salazar hit a two-run, second-inning homer and a solo shot in the fourth.
One of two hits for Lou Montanez was a fourth-inning solo homer and three players had two hits for the Orioles, who had lost four of their previous five games.
Winning pitcher Radhames Liz (6-5) yielded five hits in eight scoreless innings.
Closer George Sherrill gave up three runs -- two earned -- and two hits in the top of the ninth before Jim Miller ended the Twins' late comeback.
Minnesota got one RBI from three players. Nick Punto had three hits and one RBI for the Twins, who had won four of five.
The losing pitcher was starter Nick Blackburn (10-9).
