DENVER, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- James Loney broke open a close game with a three-run double in the ninth Friday, vaulting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 7-2 defeat of Colorado.

The Dodgers won for the 11th time in 12 games and stayed 3 ½ games in front of Arizona in the battle for the NL West crown. Arizona halted a six-game winning streak with a victory over Cincinnati.

Manny Ramirez drove in a run to boost his RBI total to 12 over the last six games, but the Dodgers were holding only a 4-2 advantage going into the ninth.

Chin-lung Hu walked to lead off the ninth against Manny Corpas and singles by Andre Ethier and Ramirez loaded the bases. Loney then came through with a two-out double to right, clearing the bases.

Starter Chad Billingsley (15-10) got the win by limiting the Rockies to two runs on six hits in six innings.

Matt Kemp put Los Angeles in front for good with an RBI single in the fourth off Jeff Francis (4-10).
