NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Jeff Francoeur's two-run, eighth-inning single helped Atlanta edge the New York Mets 3-2 Saturday in the first game of a day/night doubleheader.

The right-fielder started a three-run rally and Omar Infante capped it with a two-out sacrifice fly.

Casey Kotchman led an 11-hit attack with three hits and two others had two hits for the Braves, who have won six of their last eight contests.

The winning pitcher was reliever Jeff Ridgeway (1-0).

Closer Mike Gonzalez, the last of five pitchers, recorded his 10th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

New York scored both runs in the fourth on Damion Easley's single and Brian Schneider's non-RBI, double-play groundout.

Carlos Delgado had two of the seven hits for the National League East-leading Mets, whose three-game winning streak ended.

Starter Johan Santana yielded two earned runs and nine hits in seven innings, but the losing pitcher was reliever Scott Schoeneweis (2-4).
