Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Jamar Bryant had a 24-yard touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter Saturday to give 20th-ranked East Carolina a 28-24 win over Tulane.
Pat Pinkney completed 22-of-32 passes for 260 yards and two TDs for the Pirates (3-0), who had not opened a season with three straight victories since 1999.
Bryant finished with five catches for 59 yards, and Norman Whitley also had a TD catch. Brandon Simmons rushed for only 27 yards on nine carries but scored once.
Kevin Moore was 21-of-37 passing for 236 yards with one TD but two interceptions for the Green Wave (0-2).
Andre Anderson had 82 yards and two touchdowns on 33 rushes and Jeremy Williams made eight receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown.
