BALI, Indonesia, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Fourth-seeded Nadia Petrova was extremely sharp in collecting a second-round victory Thursday at the $225,000 Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic in Indonesia.

Petrova won two-thirds of her service points and nearly 60 percent of return points in a 6-1, 6-1 rout of Tathiana Garbin to advance to Friday's quarterfinals of the hard-court tournament.

Third-seeded Flavia Pennetta also advanced, handing Anastasia Rodionova a 6-3, 7-5 defeat Thursday.

Lower-seeded players, however, were ousted with seventh-seeded Sara Errani falling 6-0, 7-6 (7-2), to Tamira Paszek and No. 9-seeded Shuai Peng losing 6-1, 7-5 to Yung-Jan Chan.

Chan draws top-seeded Daniela Hantuchova in Friday's quarterfinals. No. 2 seeded Patty Schnyder goes against Marta Domachowska; Pennetta plays Paszek and Petrova is paired against Francesca Schiavone in the other matches Friday.

The tournament continues through Sunday when the champion collects $35,000.
