The Astros moved into a second-place tie with Philadelphia in the National League wild card race -- four games behind Milwaukee.

Houston won its fifth straight, getting six effective innings out of Brian Moehler (11-6). He gave up five hits and two runs and received home run support from Tejada and Hunter Pence.

Pence hit a two-run shot in the first inning and Tejada delivered his grand slam during a five-run sixth. Pence has hit in 11 straight games and Tejada in 10.

Pittsburgh lost its fifth straight with the setback going to Denny Bautista (4-4). He recorded the last out in the fifth before giving up three runs in the sixth.

Jose Valderde came on in the ninth for Houston to record his 42nd save.
