Tommie Harris' wife dies

ATLANTA, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Jair Jurrjens recorded a career-best 10 strikeouts Thursday in carrying the Atlanta Braves past Colorado 8-4.
The Braves completed their first home series sweep in almost four months.
Jurrjens (13-9) gave up four runs on eight hits over six innings. Colorado had a 4-3 lead when Jurrjens threw his final pitch, but Atlanta scored five times in the bottom of the sixth.
The last three runs in the sixth came on a homer by Yunel Escobar, helping the Braves win for the fifth time in seven games.
Colorado reliever Glendon Rusch (5-5) suffered the loss after giving up four runs on three hits in the sixth.
The Rockies, who briefly had aspirations of making a late run at the NL West title, lost their fifth in a row.
