Hantuchova wins Bali second-round match

BALI, Indonesia, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Top seeds Daniela Hantuchova and Patty Schnyder each had straight-set wins Wednesday at the $225,000 Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic in Indonesia.

Hantuchova, the runner-up at last year's WTA stop in Indonesia, got by Olga Savchuk, 6-1, 7-5, and Schnyder stopped Meng Yuan, 6-2, 7-5, in the hard-court tournament. Both matches were second-rounders but were the first action of the tournament for Hantuchova and Schnyder, who had first-round byes.

Other second-round matches Wednesday saw fifth-seeded Francesca Schiavone beat Akgul Amanmuradova, 6-3, 6-2, and Marta Domachowska win, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4 over Jill Craybas.

The tournament continues through Sunday when the champion will collect $35,000.
