OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Jay Cutler was 16-of-24 passing for 299 yards and two touchdowns Monday night, leading the Denver Broncos to a 41-14 win over Oakland.
Eddie Royal picked up 146 yards on nine catches and Michael Pittman rushed for a pair of touchdowns for Denver (1-0), which beat the Raiders for the sixth time in their last seven meetings.
JaMarcus Russell was 17-of-26 passing for 180 yards and two touchdowns for Oakland (0-1).
Darren McFadden, the No. 4 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, carried the ball nine times for 46 yards but left the game with what appeared to be a left shoulder injury.
Justin Fargas picked up 97 yards on 18 rushes for Oakland.
