
DETROIT, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Rajai Davis tripled in a run and scored twice, including once in a two-run eighth Tuesday, fueling the Oakland Athletics' 3-2 win over Detroit.
Emil Brown hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly for Oakland.
Athletics starter Dana Eveland yielded two runs on seven hits in six innings. Joey Devine (5-1) got the win after pitching a scoreless seventh. Brad Ziegler earned his seventh save of the year after recording the final four outs.
Edgar Renteria drove in both runs for the Tigers.
Detroit starter Nate Robertson gave up a run on four hits while striking out six in seven innings. Fernando Rodney (0-5) got the loss after giving up a run on two hits while recording two outs in the eighth inning.
A lead-off walk to Jeff Baisley brought in Rodney, who gave up an RBI triple to Davis before Brown hit his sacrifice fly to center field. Davis had two triples in the game.
