BALTIMORE, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Jeremy Sowers gave up one run on four hits in eight innings Tuesday, pitching the Cleveland Indians to a 6-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Sowers (3-8) struck out seven while beating the Orioles for the first time in his three-year major-league career.
Kelly Shoppach had two doubles, scored twice and drove in a run for the Indians. David Dellucci added an RBI triple in the win.
Ramon Hernandez drove in the only run for the Orioles, who managed just six hits while losing for the ninth time in their past 10 games.
Radhames Liz (5-5) allowed four runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.
