ST. LOUIS, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- St. Louis Rams starting wide receiver Drew Bennett will be sidelined at least a month due to a broken bone in his left foot, the team said Monday.
Bennett sustained the injury during Sunday's 38-3 season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rams Coach Scott Linehan described the injury as a metatarsal fracture. He said Bennett will be out a significant amount of time, but didn't believe it was a season-ending injury and added Bennett doesn't need surgery.
"It looks like something that could heal in the next six weeks or so," said Linehan. "At this point in the season, we will see but right now it is going to keep him out at least a month or so."
Bennett, 30, is in his second season with the Rams. Last season, Bennett was limited by injury and had only 33 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns.
