NFL: Carolina 26, San Diego 24

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Jake Delhomme threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Dante Rosario as time ran out Sunday, giving the Carolina Panthers a 26-24 win over the San Diego Chargers.

Delhomme connected on passes to D.J. Hackett, Muhsin Muhammed, Rosario, Dwayne Jarrett and Nick Goings before hitting Rosario again on the game-winning drive.

The Carolina quarterback was 23-of-41 for 247 yards.

Rosario accumulated 96 yards on receptions and DeAngelo Williams ran for 86 yards for the Panthers (1-0).

Philip Rivers passed for three touchdowns and 217 yards for the Chargers (0-1).

San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson rushed 22 times for 97 yards.
