Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Kurt Warner threw for 197 yards and a touchdown, and Edgerrin James ran for 100 yards and a score Sunday, leading Arizona over the Francisco 49ers 23-13.
Warner finished 19 of 30 passing and James racked up his yardage in 26 carries.
Rookie Tim Hightower ran for a touchdown and Anquan Bolden totaled eight receptions for 82 yards for the Cardinals (1-0).
J.T. O'Sullivan made his first start at quarterback for San Francisco, connecting on 13 of 19 passes for 173 yards, with one interception.
Frank Gore ran for a 44-yard touchdown and gained 96 yards for the 49ers (0-1) and Bryant Johnson, a former Cardinal, caught three passes for 48 yards.
