SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Darren Huckerby scored one goal and assisted on another Saturday, and the San Jose Earthquakes beat D.C. United 2-1 to run their unbeaten streak to eight games.

The Quakes (7-9-7) have won four of their last five games to climb into fourth place in the MLS Western Conference.

Santino Quaranta scored for D.C. United (10-11-2), which maintained its tie with Red Bull New York for fourth in the East.
