SEATTLE, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Jose Lopez's three hits, including two solo homers, led Seattle to a 5-2 win over the New York Yankees Sunday.
Lopez's 13th and 14th homers this season came in the fourth and eighth innings.
Adrian Beltre had two hits, one a two-run homer in the third, which created a 2-2 tie. He extended his hitting streak to 13 straight games.
Raul Ibanez hit a fifth-inning RBI single for the Mariners, who -- despite being 30 games below .500 -- have won six of their last 10 games.
Winning pitcher Ryan Feierabend (1-2) surrendered two earned runs and five hits in seven innings.
Closer J.J. Putz, the last of three Seattle pitchers, earned his 12th save.
New York scored on solo homers by Derek Jeter in the first and Xavier Nady in the second.
Jeter and Hideki Matsui had two hits apiece for the Yankees, who sank to 8 ½ games back of Boston in the AL wild-card race.
The losing pitcher was starter Mike Mussina (17-8).
