
EL PASO, Texas, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Colt McCoy connected on 20 of 29 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns Saturday when No. 10 Texas beat Texas-El Paso 42-13.
Quan Cosby caught eight passes for 154 yards and a TD, Foswhitt Whittaker rushed 12 times for 72 yards and Cody Johnson scored a touchdown on the ground for the Longhorns (2-0) -- who have put up 94 points in two games this season.
Trevor Vittatoe completed 25 of 46 passes for 267 yards and a TD, and Terrell Jackson picked up 94 yards on 17 rushes for the Miners (0-2).
Texas-El Paso scored on a 30-yard field goal by Jose Martinez to take a 3-0 lead on its first possession, and went ahead 6-0 when Martinez hit from 49 yards -- but the Longhorns then scored 28 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
