KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Jamey Carroll delivered the first of five straight run-scoring singles in the fifth inning Friday, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 9-3 win over Kansas City.
The Indians won their 10th consecutive road game thanks to a big inning during which they roughed up starter Brandon Duckworth (2-1) and reliever Joel Peralta.
Asdrubal Cabrera singled to open the inning and went to third on a base hit by Grady Sizemore.
Cleveland then produced five straight RBI singles by Carroll, David Dellucci, Jhonny Peralta, Victor Martinez and Shin-Soo Choo. A sixth run scored on a double-play grounder from Ryan Garko.
Reliever Edward Mujica (2-1) got the win with a two-inning effort, during which he allowed four hits but no runs.
