FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Roger Federer beat Novak Djokovic in four sets to capture one men's semifinal Saturday at the U.S. Open tennis tournament at Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
The scores were 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2.
The other men's semifinal, between top-seeded Rafael Nadal and sixth-seeded Andy Murray, was postponed until Sunday because of bad weather.
Federer, the second seed, ran his winning streak to 33 matches in a row in a match moved up an hour to 11 a.m. EDT because of the expected arrival of Tropical Storm Hanna.
He dominated the first set, lost the second to his 21-year-old Serbian opponent, the tournament's third seed, and then rallied to win the third and grabbed the fourth with relative ease.
The four-time defending champion's latest victory put him in position to claim his 13th final in his past 14 major tournaments.
Federer finished with 20 aces and one double-fault while improving his record against the reigning Australian Open winner to 7-2 lifetime.
