COL FB: Wisconsin 51, Marshall 14

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Allan Evridge threw for one touchdown and a career-high 308 yards Saturday when 11th-ranked Wisconsin shook off a sluggish start and trounced Marshall 51-14.

The Badgers scored 51 unanswered points after falling behind 14-0 with 13:34 left in the first half.

The senior from Papillon, Neb., brought them back by completing 17 of 26 passes for their 16th straight victory at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium.

P.J. Hill rushed for two scores after gaining 57 yards on 18 carries. John Clay also scored twice on 11 carries for 54 yards for the Badgers, who have won 32 of their last 34 home games against non-conference foes, dating back to 1995.

Darius Marshall scored a touchdown on 15 carries for 50 yards and Darius Passmore ended with seven receptions for 95 yards for the Thundering Herd (1-1).

Quarterback Mark Cann completed 20 of 39 passes for 211 yards with two interceptions.
