COL FB: Auburn 27, Southern Miss 13

AUBURN, Ala., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Ben Tate, Tristan Davis and Kodi Burns rushed for touchdowns Saturday, propelling 10th-ranked Auburn to a 27-13 victory over Southern Mississippi.

Quarterback Chris Todd completed 21 of 31 passes for 248 yards for Auburn (2-0). Tate rushed for 71 yards and had three receptions for 51 yards.

Shawn Nelson caught 12 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown for Southern Mississippi (1-1). Austin Davis, who completed 33 of 50 passes for 268 yards, passed for two touchdowns and was intercepted twice.

Wes Byrum kicked two field goals for Auburn, the first a 52-yarder.
