MLB: Oakland at Kansas City, ppd., rain

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Persistent rains associated with what was once Hurricane Gustav forced postponement Wednesday of the scheduled game between Oakland and Kansas City.

It will be made up Thursday as part of a doubleheader -- the first game of which will begin at 5:10 p.m. EDT.

Dana Eveland (8-8) will start for Oakland in the first game against Brian Bannister (7-14). In the second game, Oakland will send Dan Meyer (0-3) to the mound against Kyle Davies (5-6).
