PHOENIX, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn's RBI double in the bottom of the ninth Wednesday lifted Arizona to a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Dunn's game-winning RBI capped a two-run rally with one out in the inning. It was his 14th RBI since Cincinnati dealt the slugger to Arizona last month.
Earlier, Conor Jackson's second hit and second RBI, a run-scoring single, created a 3-3 tie.
An Arizona run also scored on Ron Villone's seventh-inning wild pitch.
Chad Tracy had three hits and Stephen Drew two for the National League West-leading Diamondbacks, who won twice in the three-game series.
They increased their lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers to two games, pending the outcome of the Dodgers-San Diego contest.
The winner was Chad Qualls (4-8).
St. Louis's Troy Glaus hit a two-run, third-inning homer and starter Kyle Lohse hit an RBI double in the sixth.
Three players had two hits for the Cardinals, who have dropped five of six.
The losing pitcher was Chris Perez (2-2).
