FRISCO, Texas, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Alejandro Moreno and Eddie Gaven each scored a goal Saturday night to lead the Columbus Crew to a 2-1 win over FC Dallas and into the top spot in the MLS East.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto assisted on both goals to run his league-leading assist tally to 16 for Columbus (12-6-4).

FC Dallas (6-8-8) opened the scoring in the 35th minute but Moreno headed the ball past Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala less than two minutes later to tie the game 1-1. Gaven scored what turned out to be the decisive goal three minutes later.
