Tommie Harris' wife dies

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Aaron Boone walloped a three-run homer during an eighth-inning rally that carried Washington to its sixth straight win Sunday, 8-4 over the Atlanta Braves.
Boone also singled in a run and Willie Harris added three hits and an RBI for the Nationals, who trailed 4-1 entering the eighth but jumped ahead with five runs.
Atlanta's Yunel Escobar hit a three-run homer in the Braves' fourth loss in five games.
Garrett Mock (1-3) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and got the win.
Elmer Dessens (0-1), pounded for five runs and four hits in the eighth, took the loss for Atlanta, which has dropped four of its last five contests.
