COL FB: Missouri 52, Illinois 42

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Chase Daniel was 26-of-43 passing for 314 yards and three TDs Saturday to lead No. 7 Missouri past No. 19 Illinois 52-42.

Daniel also threw one interception.

Missouri Heisman Trophy hopeful Jeremy Maclin returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown but left the game in the second half with an apparent left-ankle injury. Chase Coffman caught nine passes for 120 yards and a score, and Derrick Washington rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Juice Williams connected on 26-of-41 passes for a career-high 458 yards and five touchdowns for Illinois, but also threw two key interceptions -- including one that Missouri returned for a touchdown. Will Hudson caught five passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
