ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Ervin Santana allowed five hits over eight innings Friday and the Los Angeles Angels used a three-run seventh to down Texas 3-1.
Santana (14-5) struck out seven, one outing after he had fanned 10 men in a no-decision against Minnesota.
Francisco Rodriguez worked a perfect ninth for his 52nd save.
Texas held a 1-0 lead going into the sixth, but Chone Figgins came up with a one-out single and scored on Garret Anderson's 14th homer of the year.
The go-ahead runs came off Dustin Nippert (1-4).
After Anderson put the Angels in front, Mark Teixeira continued the inning with a single, moved around to third on walks to Vladimir Guerrero and Torri Hunter and scored on Juan Rivera's sacrifice fly.
