LAWRENCE, Kan., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Todd Reesing hit 37-of-52 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead 13th-ranked Kansas to a 40-10 win over Florida International.

Dezmon Briscoe made all three touchdown receptions in a nine-catch, 55-yard performance for the Jayhawks.

Kansas won a school-record 12 games last season to earn its first January Bowl game since 1968 -- and then went on to beat Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Angus Quigley was Kansas' leading rusher Saturday with six carries for 47 yards. Kerry Meier caught nine passes for 62 yards.

Florida International's Paul McCall completed just 10-of-28 passing attempts for 73 yards and was intercepted twice. It was the Panthers' 12th loss in their last 13 games.
