PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- A two-yard scoring run with 6:26 to play Thursday lifted the New York Jets to a 27-20 exhibition victory over Philadelphia.

New York quarterback Brett Favre sat out the closing tuneup, leaving most of the work to rookie Eric Ainge, who completed 10 of 16 passes for 131 yards and a six-yard touchdown throw to David Ball that gave New York a 17-13 lead in the third period.

Philadelphia's A.J. Feeley threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Childress with 9:30 to play, tying the game at 20-20. The Eagles were in position to regain the ball, but they fumbled away a punt and Ainge drove the Jets 17 yards in three plays to the winning touchdown.

Feeley was 13-of-25 for 143 yards, but threw two interceptions. The Jets finished off the exhibition campaign at 3-1 and the Eagles were 2-2.

The Jets travel to Miami for their season opener and Philadelphia will be at home against St. Louis.
