KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia had three hits and scored the go-ahead run in the seventh on a Kansas City error Wednesday in a 3-2 Texas win over the Royals.
The Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the Royals in what was the first appearance as Texas closer for Frank Francisco.
Francisco replaced recently traded Eddie Guardado in the closer role and picked up the first save of his career.
Matt Harrison (6-3) gave up an earned run on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings to get the win -- his fourth in August.
Brian Bannister (7-14) suffered the loss, giving up three runs on six hits in 6 2/3.
Saltalamacchia's two-out double in the seventh drove in Chris Davis from second with the tying run and Saltalamacchia then scored on a fielding error by Bannister.
