SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Seventh-inning home runs by Bengie Molina and Pablo Sandoval put San Francisco in front Wednesday and the Giants went on to down Colorado 4-1.

The Rockies had their four-game winning streak snapped and remained six games behind Arizona in their late bid to catch up in the National League West.

San Francisco ace Tim Lincecum (15-3) limited Colorado to five hits and a run over 7 2/3 innings, turning in a 132-pitch effort.

Livan Hernandez (11-11) held San Francisco without a run through six innings, but gave up the two homers in the seventh. The Giants scored twice more in the eighth with the runs coming in on an error and a double-play grounder.

Brian Wilson worked around a ninth-inning hit to pick up his 36th save.
