SEATTLE, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Brian Buscher's eighth-inning pinch two-run single Wednesday was the game-winner in Minnesota's 6-5 win over Seattle, averting a Mariners' three-game sweep.
While batting for Brendan Harris with one out in the top of the inning, Buscher's hit broke a 4-4 tie.
Denard Span had two hits and two RBI.
Jason Kubel had two hits and one RBI, while three others had two hits in a 14-hit attack by the Twins, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Kubel batted .607 against Seattle this season.
Winner Glen Perkins (12-3) surrendered four earned runs and eight hits in seven innings.
Closer Joe Nathan earned his 36th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Seattle's Jose Lopez hit a two-run fourth inning homer.
Three others had one RBI, while three players had two hits for the Mariners, who went past the 2-million attendance plateau for the 12th straight season.
The losing pitcher was reliever Sean Green (3-4).
