MLB: Los Angeles Angels 5, Oakland 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Angels rode John Lackey's 13th career complete game to a 5-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics Tuesday.

Lackey allowed seven hits without a walk to improve to 11-2. He struck out five Oakland batters.

Torii Hunter had a 3-for-4 night, scoring once and driving in a run as the Angels won for the third time in four games. Howie Kendrick and Gary Matthews had one RBI each.

Jack Cust scored Oakland's only run with a ninth-inning homer.

Oakland starter Greg Smith gave up five runs on 10 hits in six innings to fall to 6-13.
