ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Daric Barton homered and Dallas Braden pitched a strong seven innings Monday night, leading the Oakland A's to a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Braden (4-3) scattered seven hits and limited the Angels to just one run, a sixth-inning homer by Mike Napoli, his 14th of the season.
Joey Devine pitched a scoreless eighth and Brad Ziegler tossed a perfect ninth to record his fifth save for Oakland, which won for the third time in its last five games.
Jered Weaver (10-10) also went seven strong innings, allowing two runs on just three hits -- including Barton's third-inning homer -- with two walks and eight strikeouts, but Weaver also made a wild pitch that allowed Frank Thomas to score in the fourth.
The Angels have split their last six games.
