HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Joey Logano was picked to take over Tony Stewart's No. 20 NASCAR entry next season.

Joe Gibbs Racings made the announcement Monday that Logano was joining the team for the NASCAR Spring Cup Series, adding that Home Depot will continue to be the main sponsor for the No. 20 car. Stewart is leaving JGR to start his own race team -- Stewart-Haas Racing.

Logano, 18, in June became the youngest driver to win a Nationwide Series race, taking the Kentucky event in just his third start.

"I just feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be in this position," Logano said. "Joe Gibbs Racing has provided me tremendous support each step of the way and the opportunity to work with the absolute best in the business. I can't explain the feeling to become a part of such an awesome Home Depot team and I'm going to just focus on working as hard as I can to prepare for next season."

JGR said Logano would make his Sprint Cup debut Sept. 6 at Richmond, Va., driving the team's fourth entry in the race.
