BEIJING, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Germany won the Olympic gold medal Friday in the women's kayak four 500-meter race.

Hungary claimed the silver and Australia the bronze.

The winning team was made up of Fanny Fischer, Nicole Reinhardt, Katrin Wagner-Augustin and Conny Wassmuth.
