CHICAGO, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Willie Harris homered twice and knocked in six runs Friday to propel Washington's 13-5 rout of the Chicago Cubs.
Despite having major league baseball's worst record, Washington hammered Cubs' relievers for six runs in the final two innings and winner John Lannan (7-12) became its fifth straight starter to hurl at least six innings.
Harris' grand slam gave the Nationals a 6-4 lead in the top of the sixth and later, his two-run blast in the ninth upped the lead to the final score.
Aaron Boone hit a pinch three-run eighth inning double.
Ronnie Belliard had three runs, four hits and two RBI.
Two others had one RBI, while Emilio Bonifacio added two hits in the Nationals' second straight win after a 12-game losing streak.
Chicago's Mark DeRosa hit a two-run homer.
Derek Lee had two hits, one a solo shot, and a run scored when Alfonso Soriano stole home in the first.
The losing pitcher was reliever Neal Cotts (0-2).
