Olympic Medal: M 50km Walk

BEIJING, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Alex Schwazer of Italy won the Olympic gold medal Friday in the 50-kilometer walk in Beijing.

Jared Tallent of Australia took the silver and Denis Nizhegorodov of Russia the bronze.

Nizhegorodov won silver in Athens four years ago and Tallent was the bronze medal winner in the 20-kilometer walk earlier in these Olympics.
