LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- James Loney had two hits and two RBI Thursday to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 win over Colorado.

His RBI single tied the contest 1-1 with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning and his solo homer with no outs in the seventh staked Los Angeles to a 3-1 lead.

Andre Ethier hit an RBI single in the fifth for the Dodgers, who made the most of their five hits to avert a three-game sweep.

Winner Derek Lowe (10-10) gave up an earned run and four hits in 6 1/3 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Hard-throwing reliever Jonathan Broxton struck out the side in the ninth to record his 10th save.

Colorado scored on Matt Holliday's first inning sacrifice fly.

Clint Barmes had two of the six hits for the Rockies, whose five-game winning streak ended.

Losing pitcher Jorge De La Rosa (6-7) was charged with two runs, one earned, and four hits in six innings.
